What is Backflow?

The flow of water or other liquids, mixtures, or substances into the distributing pipes of a potable water supply (your local water system) from any source or sources other than the intended source. Back siphonage is the flowing back of used, contaminated, or polluted water from a plumbing fixture, irrigation system or vessel into a potable water supply due to a negative pressure in the supply piping.

Backflow Prevention Installation

Big Town Service works closely with city jurisdictions to determine the best approach to bringing your property into compliance with local laws and regulations.  A typical installation involves installing a backflow preventer just after the water meter.  It must be installed above ground in an accessible area.  Normally it will be installed with a concrete pad underneath and a lockable enclosure box to protect it from above. 

As part of the new installation, we perform the first certification on the device. Backflow Repairs

We can repair or replace any make or model of backflow preventer.  The water quality in Las Vegas often plays a role in plugging up backflow prevention devices and when it comes time to re-certify them, they often times don’t pass the test.  In most cases we can open up the device, clean all the parts, then reassemble and re-certify the device.

Backflow Preventer Certification Program

Big Town Service can install, certify, repair or replace your backflow preventer.  We maintain a list of backflow customers with the installation and certification dates for all the backflow certifications we have done over the years.  When a certification date is approaching we give you a call and schedule a time for your annual certification.
