What is Backflow?
Save $200 on the purchase and installation of a new backflow preventer before 10/31/2010! The flow of water or other liquids, mixtures, or substances into the distributing pipes of a potable water supply (your local water system) from any source or sources other than the intended source. Back siphonage is the flowing back of used, contaminated, or polluted water from a plumbing fixture, irrigation system or vessel into a potable water supply due to a negative pressure in the supply piping.
Can backflow or "back siphonage" be controlled? Absolutely! Big Town Service can assess your residential or commercial needs to address all of your water quality issues. Our quality control systems and service meet all guidelines and regulations that are of concern to you, your family and your community.
Backflow Prevention Installation
Big Town Service works closely with city jurisdictions to determine the best approach to bringing your property into compliance with local laws and regulations. A typical installation involves installing a backflow preventer just after the water meter. It must be installed above ground in an accessible area. Normally it will be installed with a concrete pad underneath and a lockable enclosure box to protect it from above.
As part of the new installation, we perform the first certification on the device. We will also record the certification, send the original to the correct city jurisdiction and keep a copy on file in our office. Backflow preventers are required to be certified once a year. We will keep track of the date of installation and call you when it is time for re-certification. Call today or schedule an appointment online for a free estimate to install and certify a new backflow preventer!
We can repair or replace any make or model of backflow preventer. The water quality in Las Vegas often plays a role in plugging up backflow prevention devices and when it comes time to re-certify them, they often times don’t pass the test. In most cases we can open up the device, clean all the parts, then reassemble and re-certify the device.
In some cases internal parts need to be replaced. In rare cases entire assemblies need to be replaced. We can perform all repairs and replacements necessary to keep you in compliance with local laws and ordinances.
