Preventative Maintenance

Preventative Maintenance is just that; maintenance designed to prevent more expensive emergency service repairs.  You may be thinking, “Our building is brand new, and so is the equipment in it.  Why would I need to maintain it?”  Refrigeration equipment is mechanical in nature and has to be maintained in order for it to function properly and efficiently.  One of the most common comparisons is to an automobile.  You drive a car off the lot and 3,000 miles later you need to take it in for an oil change.  During that oil change they will check your tires, brakes, air filter, fluids, any warning lights, and basic condition of the vehicle. 

They also grease your chassis, fill any fluids that are low and check belts for wear.  If there is anything out of the ordinary they bring it to your attention and give you the option of fixing the minor problems they find before they turn into bigger, more expensive problems.  Many of us have learned the hard way that putting off minor repairs can lead to very expensive damage to major components on a vehicle.  When a vehicle is maintained properly, it gets better gas mileage, the individual parts of the vehicle last longer, and the overall life of the vehicle is extended.  It has been proven that proactive maintenance is more effective and less expensive than reactive repairs.
